We had another “Wisitor”

We had another “wisitor” but this one wasn’t invited! Steve was on a work call and thought he saw something fly by in the house. Sure enough, it was a bat!!  By now it was on the window screen of a bedroom window so, Steve trapped it between the screen and window and texted Sam. Sam and Annette came and got it in a towel and released it outside.

I lost my wedding ring!!! Sat. evening I put all of my jewelry on my dresser (as I always do) and when I woke up on Sunday, everything else was there but my ring was nowhere to be found! We looked everywhere; I went through the garbage- coffee grounds, shrimp shells and dirty diapers??? No Ring!!! Garbage disposal, the lawn, the laundry, and Travis came and practiced his interviewing skills, and crawled around on his belly with his flashlight looking for it. Steve finally found it on the floor in-between his nightstand and his side of the bed. How it got there we have NO IDEA!!! I’m pretty sure it was a ghost!

Thursday evening Steve and I were out and about and noticed a little girl all alone the had fallen off her bike. We stopped and when she saw Steve, she rolled her eyes and said, “Not you again!“. She was one of the kids he had been teasing at the pool. Steve walked her bike over to the police station and I gave her a ride to the police station. She didn’t know her Mom’s phone number, but she knew where she lived, so the police officer, Max, drove her home after patching up her owie.

Friday the whole family went to the pool. Seeley loves the water as much as Jaxon.

Saturday, we ran errands and cleaned (both take much less time than they used to) we picked more rhubarb and I a made a Peoria rhubarb cream pie-SO GOOD!!! We also went to the farmer’s market and maybe bought too much, but when we see such beautiful, fresh produce, it’s so inviting!  I also tried a pickled egg! What the heck! We invited our neighbor John over for dinner and we had pork tacos.

Sunday night we had Rick and Kay Dunning over for dinner, along with their daughter, Ryanne. We met them at a “cocktails on the lawn”. They are from Savage, MN, so we had a lot in common and just hit it off! We had a charcuterie board, coconut lime salmon, Waimea fried rice & turnip and Swiss chard sautéed greens. They brought a delicious chocolate cake. We had a FANTASTIC time!

Steve had to fly down to Juneau for a doctor appointment and as they were about to land the 8-seater, there were commercial planes the needed to land first, so the pilot looped around and flew over to the Mendenhall glacier. So cool.

Steve, Dacotah and Seeley went up the road to Chilkoot Lake (Lutak Spur) to look for bears and they saw 6 of them. There are bears all over town from what we read on Facebook.

I bought a watermelon that was on sale at the local grocery store??? $18.00!! I mean, they are on sale, so if you want watermelon, that is what you pay!

Kiss,kiss,

Stephanie
