Why We Came

Hello Friends and Family,

This week was was mostly working during the day and working on the apartment at night. One night we were invited over to the Russell’s for chili. We gave Dacotah our Half-Time Chili recipe. She got a bit overwhelmed while making it with Seeley crawling around and getting into everything and letting Lego in & out, in & out, in & out….that when she was supposed to put 14 oz of water, she added 14 CUPS OF WATER!!!! HAHAHAHA!!! We had us some chili soup with very little flavor :(She’s usually a pretty good cooker but this was definitely a fail.

Friday SEARHC had an employee appreciation lunch. we had ribs, chicken, brats, hot dogs, beans, salad, watermelon, grapes, chips, a sour cherry & rhubarb crisp, etc. What a feast! I met a few new people also, so that was nice!

Friday night we had the priviledge of watching Seeley. We had a great time watching Chitty, Chitty Bang Bang! We wore her out and she fell asleep on Steve’s legs. She is SO MUCH FUN!!!! She’s SO expresive and is learning so much everyday. Just wish we could be with Jaxon also 😦 But it’s not our fault they refuse to live in the same place!

This weekend was “The Beerfest”. Friday night there was a gourmet dinner with a craft beer pairing for each course. the menu included quail eggs, duck confit etc. The tickets were $100. Then on Saturday they have a craft beer tasting at the fair grounds for $50 that lasts for 4 hours. When it gets out you have wildly drunk people. The police were all ready. Some of the past shenanigans were a guy who kept taking his clothes off and Travis had to keep reminding him to put his clothes on-LOL. They also had to chase someone and the police officer had to use an ATV because the perp went off road. They allow people to tent all over town and it brings people from all over. The brewers come from all over also, even Hawaii! If you check out this link; https://seakfair.org/beerfest/ you will see what it usually looks like. Scroll to the end of the web page and there is a video of previous beerfests. You can also peruse the menu if you are a foodie. The slip-n-slide is right outside our front door. Maybe buy your tickets for next year? This year is was cold, rainy and windy so there wasn’t a slip-n-slide. Steve was pretty disappointed. It will be fun tonight (if Travis makes it over for dinner) to hear what went on last night. We are having halibut fish-n-chips!

I’ve got to make a trip to the recycle park and keep unpacking and putting stuff away.

Kiss, Kiss,

Stephanie
